The AASM has developed an Insomnia Toolkit for Clinicians to help sleep medicine professionals access practical resources for evaluating and managing insomnia disorder. It was created following the AASM Insomnia Summit, which brought together key stakeholders to discuss barriers to high-quality insomnia care and opportunities to improve access for patients.
The toolkit serves as a central resource for clinicians seeking practical information about insomnia care. Tools include clinical guidelines, evaluation and management tools, continuing education opportunities, professional training information, patient education materials, digital CBT-I resources, and directories for behavioral sleep medicine specialists and accredited sleep centers.
By compiling these resources in one place, the toolkit supports evidence-based care, patient conversations, and referrals for adults and children with insomnia symptoms. Clinicians can use it to stay informed about recommended approaches to insomnia management and identify resources that may help patients better understand their condition and treatment options.
