The AASM Obesity Management Task Force has compiled a new collection of obesity management resources to help equip sleep medicine clinicians to manage obesity in patients who have sleep disorders.
As the role of managing obesity in sleep medicine continues to evolve, clinicians are increasingly seeking practical information about the relationship between obesity and sleep health, treatment options for patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and emerging developments in patient care.
The new resource hub provides a central location for evidence-based information and tools that can support clinical decision-making and patient discussions. The collection brings together clinical guidance, educational materials, research, and other resources relevant to sleep medicine practice.
The collection also includes “Advancing Healthy Weight Management in Sleep Medicine: Findings and Recommendations from the AASM Obesity Management Strategy Summit,” a report that explores opportunities for integration of obesity care in sleep medicine.
In addition to clinician-focused tools, the task force also compiled obesity management resources for patients. These materials can help support informed discussions about sleep, weight, and overall health.
