Revised standards for accreditation take effect July 1

The AASM has revised the Standards for Accreditation to simplify requirements that have a limited bearing on the quality of a sleep facility or independent sleep practice. These revised standards have been posted online and take effect July 1, 2019.

You can now download the revised Facility Standards and Independent Sleep Practice Standards. A summary of the revisions to the Standards for Accreditation also is available as a Standards At-a-Glance resource for both facility and independent sleep practice accreditation. All of these resources can be accessed by visiting the accreditation Reference Materials page on the AASM website.

Currently accredited sleep facilities and independent sleep practices must be compliant with the updated Standards for Accreditation by Nov. 1, 2019. Applicants who submit their application on or after July 1, 2019, will complete their application under the updated standards. Applicants who submitted their application prior to July 1, 2019, and are in application, will complete the remainder of their application under the previous standards; these applicants still must be compliant with the updated standards by Nov. 1, 2019.
