ProSomnus has expanded its EVO line with a new oral appliance designed for obstructive sleep apnea. Called EVO Guided, the company says it is the first bioengineered oral device intentionally designed to dilate both the velopharynx and the oropharynx.
About EVO Guided
ProSomnus EVO Guided is engineered to guide, stabilize and titrate the mandible into a prescribed therapeutic position. Its anatomical splint design provides up to 14 times more tongue space and guides the tongue into an anterior posture while assisting mouth closure. Custom-made from the patient’s oral records, the device uses no prefabricated components.
According to the company, EVO Guided incorporates a 95-degree guided prescription mechanism that guides the mouth closed and stabilizes the mandible within microns of the target position after titration. The lingual-less overlays are designed to reduce deformation and collapse of the ventral wall of the velopharynx, helping keep the airway open without restricting tongue movement.
ProSomnus launched EVO Guided in the U.S. in May during the 2025 American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine annual meeting in Las Vegas. The company originally received FDA clearance for the EVO line in 2020.
About oral appliance therapy
Oral appliance therapy is a non-invasive treatment for snoring and sleep apnea, involving the use of a removable device worn in the mouth during sleep. These appliances, varying in appearance, are favored by some patients for their ease of use and portability, as they are smaller and more travel-friendly compared to traditional CPAP machines, taking a few weeks for most individuals to adapt to sleeping with them.
