The AASM is conducting a short survey of pediatric sleep specialists in response to member concerns that some durable medical equipment (DME) suppliers are requiring that ventilators be used instead of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) devices in pediatric obstructive sleep apnea patients weighing less than 30 kg.
In some instances, DME suppliers are requiring providers to submit additional information. In other cases, DME suppliers may not approve CPAP use in this patient population for this and/or other reasons. To help us understand the prevalence of this problem, the AASM encourages all pediatric sleep specialists to complete this short, 3-minute survey.
Please complete the survey by Friday, May 8. Thank you for your participation!
