Updated facts sheets from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention provide information on short sleep duration (<7 hours in a typical 24-hour period) among adults. Fact sheets are available for all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Each fact sheet includes:

  • A map with county-level estimates of short sleep duration;
  • A table with the prevalence of short sleep duration among adults in the state by sex, age, and race/ethnicity;
  • A chart with the prevalence of four health risk factors by sleep duration (short sleep vs. sufficient sleep);
  • And a chart with the prevalence of 10 chronic conditions by sleep duration (short sleep vs. sufficient sleep).
