The November 2008 issue of SLEEP, the official publication of the APSS, is now posted online. This issue includes several articles in a new featured section of the journal entitled the Critical Topics Forum. The Critical Topics Forum is intended to address recent findings published in other areas of medicine/science that relate to sleep and to encourage debate and exploration of these topics. Each forum will concentrate on a recently published article and will invite commentary of these findings by experts in that area of medicine. The original author(s) are then invited to respond to these comments.

This first Critical Topics Forum focuses on a paper by Brooks PL and Peever JH entitled "Glycinergic and GABAA-mediated inhibition of somatic motoneurons does not mediate rapid eye movement sleep motor atonia." To view all articles in the Forum, visit the SLEEP Web site.
