The AASM Membership term runs on a calendar year basis (January to December). The pricing below is valid from June 1, 2026– September 30, 2026.

Annual Dues: $50-$400 $50-$225

  • Must hold an MD, DO, PhD, DDS, DNP, or other healthcare doctoral degree and be active in sleep disorders medicine.
  • Full voting privileges
  • Full Members include the following descriptions with dues rates:
    • U.S. based physicians participating in an ACGME-accredited sleep medicine fellowship training program, or similar training program. Verification required. ($50)
    • Physicians less than three years removed from a fellowship training program. Verification required. ($200)
    • Retired individuals who are 65 or older and working zero hours per week in the field of sleep medicine. No voting privileges. ($100)
    • All other eligible professionals ($400)

$575 – Dual Membership

Reduced rates are available when you join as a dual Full/Regular member of both the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and Sleep Research Society (SRS). Through membership with the SRS you will join scientific investigators who educate and research sleep and circadian science. See a full list of SRS member benefits.

  • For Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Sleep Technologists, Respiratory Therapists, Office/Center Managers, Medical Assistants, or other professionals as approved by the Board of Directors.
  • No voting privileges
  • Discounted membership pricing ($100 discount) available to staff who are employed by an AASM Accredited Network Member

AASM Student and Resident membership is free!

  • Must be in formal training, such as medical school, residency, a post-doctoral program, a master’s degree program, a non-sleep medicine fellowship program, a PhD program, or similar program as approved by the Board of Directors.
  • No voting privileges
  • Required: Upload a verification letter from your program director/registrar verifying your student status and showing your expected graduation year within 2 weeks of application (memberships will remain inactive until verification is received)
  • Note: If you are a U.S. based physician participating in an ACGME-accredited sleep medicine fellowship or similar training program, please join as a Full Member ($50).

  • For individuals who are not eligible for other membership categories and have a professional interest in sleep medicine.

  • For individuals who reside outside of the United States. Dues are based upon your country’s World Bank income category.
  • Applicant’s mailing address must be located in this list of eligible countries to receive the discounted dues rate
  • No voting rights

$0 – $150

  • For individuals who would like to become an AASM member and are facing a unique hardship situation.
  • No voting privileges.
  • To apply, applicants must complete the Circumstance application and submit it by email to membership@aasm.org for staff review.
