The American Academy of Sleep Medicine is now accepting pediatric and adult case submissions for the new Case Book of Sleep Medicine, Volume 4, a companion to the International Classification of Sleep Disorders – Third Edition, Text Revision. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to educate others about sleep medicine by sharing your illustrative case. Submissions are due by Jan. 20, 2025.

Outline

Cases will match the sleep disorder classification of the ICSD-3-TR. Each case study requires the following sections:

  1. History
  2. Physical Examination (if indicated)
  3. Differential Diagnosis
  4. Diagnostic Testing or Other Assessments
  5. Final Diagnosis
  6. Treatment Plan
  7. Outcome
  8. Teaching Points
  9. References

Images

If you want to include images with your case, then you need to submit them as .eps, .jpg, .jpeg, .pdf, or .png files. The minimum resolution required is 300 dpi. Any vector graphics submitted must have all images embedded and all fonts converted to outlines. The Case Book will be printed in black and white, so be sure that images will maintain their appearance if converted from color to black and white.

Submission Process

Cases must be submitted through the online submission system by Monday, Jan. 20, 2025. You are encouraged to submit your case early. You will be able to open, review, edit, and preview your case until the submission system closes. Authors are allowed to submit multiple cases.

Submission of a case does not guarantee acceptance. If your case is chosen, you will work with the co-editors to refine your submission and will be listed as an author.
