Some physician practices will be contacted by Mathematica, which has contracted with the American Medical Association (AMA) to collect representative data on physician practice expenses via the Physician Practice Information (PPI) Survey. AASM members are encouraged to participate, if contacted, as this survey will have a direct impact on physician reimbursements and will allow the AMA to communicate accurate financial information to policymakers, including members of Congress and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
The subject line of the email will be “Reminder: The AMA needs your input to support fair and accurate physician payment,” and the email will come from PPISurvey@mathematica-mpr.com. Questions about the PPI Survey can be sent to the AASM health policy team at coding@aasm.org.
