Earn CME by Reviewing Manuscripts

CME credit is available based on a learner’s participation in a manuscript’s pre-publication review process for the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine. Physicians may claim CME credit for a maximum of five (5) reviews per calendar year. Please see the criteria below for information about which reviews are eligible for CME credit.

The AASM designates each manuscript review activity for a maximum of 3.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Learning Objectives:

  • Integrate new discoveries or observations in the field of sleep medicine that will improve performance in practice
  • Critically analyze medical literature, current issues, multidisciplinary patient care, and practice management in the field of sleep medicine
  • Evaluate how a research question or investigational clinical application is formulated and articulated in a proposed manuscript
  • Synthesize the literature with a thorough review of the proposed manuscript thereby identifying its strengths and weaknesses prior to publication

Disclosure:

Manuscript reviewers have access to the author conflicts of interest disclosures for each manuscript reviewed.

CRITERIA TO CLAIM CME:

CME requests must be made within 6 months of the completion of the review. Only reviews of the initial submission of an original research article are eligible for CME credit. Furthermore, only reviews received on time (as defined in the invitation to review, usually 14 days from receipt of manuscript) and judged as satisfactory by the Editor (Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editor or Associate Editor) responsible for the particular manuscript will be eligible for CME credit.
