OIG 2011 Work Plan Includes Projects Related to Sleep Medicine

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) 2011 Work Plan includes projects planned in each of the Department’s major entities, including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

A number of these projects relate to the practice of sleep medicine, including a review of Medicare payments for sleep studies and a review of the compliance of independent diagnostic testing facilities (IDTFs) with Medicare standards.

The AASM has prepared a PDF summary of the projects that are most closely related to the field of sleep medicine. Contact the AASM with questions at policy@aasm.org or 630-737-9700.
