Beginning September 8, 2025, the AASM Foundation will accept nominations and applications for several awards and programs. These opportunities recognize leaders in sleep research and community outreach while supporting the next generation of investigators.

The AASM Foundation Research Mentor Award honors individuals for their efforts and leadership in developing early career researchers, including undergraduates, graduate students, postdoctoral trainees and junior faculty pursuing careers in sleep and circadian science.
- Award: $500 to each selected recipient
- Nominations due: November 10, 2025
- Recipients notified: February 27, 2026
Sleep Champion Award
The Sleep Champion Award recognizes successful community-based sleep health services and education provided by nonprofit organizations.
- Award: $10,000 to the selected organization, plus complimentary registration for a representative to attend SLEEP 2026
- Nominations due: November 10, 2025
- Recipient notified: February 27, 2026
Young Investigator Research Forum
The Young Investigator Research Forum is a research training program designed to support early career investigators in circadian and sleep research. Participants gain career development guidance, networking opportunities with senior investigators and exposure to research funding mechanisms.
- Award: Travel scholarship to attend the in-person Young Investigator Research Forum 2026, April 19-21 in Chicago
