On Sept. 7, 2017, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) selected Palmetto GBA to replace Cahaba Government Benefit Administrators, LLC as the Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) for Jurisdiction JJ, which includes Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.
The transition will go into effect as of Jan. 29, 2018, for Part A providers and Feb. 26, 2018, for Part B providers. After these cutover dates, the JJ AB MAC and JM AB MAC will have identical LCDs.
Palmetto GBA JJ is holding Part A and Part B Transition Preparedness workshops in January and February for providers who want to learn more about updates to come.
