Efforts to contain the costs of treating obstructive sleep apnea will drive U.S. shipments of autotitrating positive airway pressure (APAP) devices to surpass those of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines in 2015, according to a new report from IHS Technology. The report projects that APAP device shipments will grow 70 percent, increasing at a compound annual growth rate of 14.2 percent over the next four years to reach 1.3 million units by 2017.
