SLEEP 2010, the 24th Annual Meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies LLC (APSS), will be held June 5–9, 2010, in San Antonio, Texas. 2010 marks the first year that the APSS has held its meeting in the state of Texas…take some extra time before or after SLEEP 2010 to enjoy the diverse activities that can be found in the surrounding area:

  • SHOPPING: Take the short drive to the city of Comfort (35 miles from downtown San Antonio) where you can shop for antiques, outdoor decorations, paintings and jewelry in the city’s many boutiques; and enjoy catfish and Cajun cuisine at a local restaurant on the Guadalupe River. Or stay in San Antonio to visit the Shops at Artisans Alley, where the creative works of local artists are showcased in one-of-a-kind boutiques, galleries and specialty shops.
  • WINERIES: The city of Fredericksburg (60 miles from downtown San Antonio) and its surrounding Hill Country boast more than 30 wineries and vineyards. Extend your meeting stay by visiting this city where seven wineries can be found in the immediate Fredericksburg area and five more can be reached in easy driving distance.
Also be sure to reserve your hotel room for SLEEP 2010 now; discounted rooms can be booked through the APSS San Antonio Housing Bureau through May 7, 2010, or until the reserved hotel room blocks sell out.
