Florida Self-Referral Act of 1992

The Florida Patient Self-Referral Act of 1992 governs financial arrangements and prohibits referrals in certain cases.  The Act is very complex and far reaching but simply put, the Act requires the direct supervision (physical presence) of a physician during the entire sleep recording and services for patients.  The Act affects physician owned sleep-related testing facilities only; it does not apply to hospital owned facilities.
