In April 2017, the AASM released an Expedited Accreditation Program to assist facilities being affected by changes to their local coverage determinations (LCD). Over the past two years many have received the benefits of achieving AASM accreditation quickly. In review of this Expedited Accreditation Program, the AASM has decided to open the Expedited Accreditation process to all applicants.
Effective March 15, 2019, all applicants can participate in faster accreditation, whether it is provisional, new accreditation or reaccreditation. Sleep facilities, independent sleep practices, and DME providers are all welcome to apply. With expedited accreditation, enjoy the benefits of:
- Expedited Initial Review
- Expedited Review of Requests for Additional Information
- Accreditation Reference Manual (for facility applications) – $160 value
To participate in this program, simply select the option for expedited accreditation when opening the application and pay the $500 expedited accreditation add-on fee at the time of submission.
Applicants currently affected by recent LCD changes wishing to participate in the current Expedited Accreditation Program must submit application prior to March 15, 2019. Any application submitted after March 15, 2019 opting for Expedited Accreditation will be charged the $500 Expedited Accreditation Fee.
