An editorial in the Stillwater News Press by AASM member Dr. Vikas Jain warns that Oklahoma’s recent cuts to coverage of sleep services for adult Medicaid patients will lead to increased medical expenses over time by making it impossible to diagnose and effectively treat Medicaid patients with obstructive sleep apnea. The AASM recently urged the Oklahoma Health Care Authority to reinstate sleep study and CPAP therapy coverage, which has been eliminated due to the state’s budget crisis.
