The AASM Coding & Compliance Committee has posted on the AASM website a new member education resource, the Remote Monitoring Services Implementation Guide. It will assist members in understanding the requirements for reporting both remote physiologic monitoring (RPM) and remote therapeutic monitoring (RTM) codes, as currently defined and implemented by the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) medical billing and codes set and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
A few key highlights include:
- Remote services general requirements
- RPM and RTM background, applications, and reporting requirements
- Recommendations for implementation in sleep medicine
Members may send questions about RPM or RTM services to coding@aasm.org.
