Recently, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) mailed letters to the providers who will receive a cut to their payment in 2015. This 1.5% reduction in Medicare Part B payment will impact all providers who did not submit 2013 Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) data. If you received a letter from CMS, it is unfortunately too late to avoid the 2015 payment reduction. However, you do still have a chance to avoid a larger cut in 2016. Providers who do not submit PQRS data in 2014 will see a 2.0% reduction to payment in 2016.
Many AASM members are able to submit PQRS data through their electronic medical records (EMRs). However, if you don’t have a mechanism to submit PQRS data, the AASM has an easy to use tool for you – PQRSwizard, which is a CMS-approved registry that users compare to TurboTax. Enroll in the AASM PQRSwizard to obtain access to the registry for a discounted rate of $225. Register today to complete your data submission by the 2014 deadline of Feb. 26, 2015.
