In August members voted to adopt revised bylaws that reorganized the AASM membership categories and introduced four types of membership “standing.” These changes simplify the membership classification and improve the recognition of members.
If you are a current member, you will see your new category reflected in your account when you log in on the AASM website. Your new category also will appear on your 2022 membership renewal invoice. You can renew your membership beginning Oct. 1. There is no change to the membership dues for the 2022 membership year.
New Membership Categories
The following chart shows the changes to the AASM membership categories:
New Types of Membership Standing
All AASM members also have one of four types of membership standing. These designations augment a membership category by providing additional details about the member:
- Regular
- Fellow
- Retired
- Fellow Emeritus
The AASM accepts applications for Fellow standing on an annual review schedule. Fellow applications for 2022 will be accepted beginning Oct. 11. More details will be provided soon.
