The American Academy of Sleep Medicine congratulates Douglas E. Moul, MD, MPH, who was named the 2025 recipient of the Beacon Award for Excellence in Peer Review, which recognizes one individual whose contributions stand above all others for their work as a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine.

The AASM also congratulates the seven recipients of the Pathfinder Award for Distinguished Reviewers, which recognizes manuscript reviewers who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the peer review process through their consistent engagement, thoughtful evaluations, and timely responses.

These awards were created in 2025 by Editor-in-Chief M. Safwan Badr, MD, MBA, and he selected the recipients based on the number of reviews they performed, the percentage of review invitations they accepted, and their timeliness in 2024. They will be recognized during the upcoming annual meeting of the JCSM editorial board, which will be held Tuesday, June 10, during SLEEP 2025 in Seattle.
