Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) severity has long been defined by the apnea‑hypopnea index (AHI), yet AHI alone often fails to reflect meaningful differences in symptoms, cardiovascular risk, and treatment response. This webinar will examine emerging metrics of OSA severity—including hypoxemia burden, sleep fragmentation, and event characteristics—and explore which measures are currently feasible to incorporate into clinical interpretation. The session will also address the remaining needs for standardization, validation, and implementation to help bridge the gap between evolving research and routine sleep medicine practice.
