A recent data brief from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics shows that the prevalence of obesity among U.S. adults did not change between 2009–2010 and 2011–2012. However, obesity continues to be a problem for 34.9 percent of adults – more than 78 million people in the U.S. The findings echo an August report from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, which found that all state obesity rates remained level except that of Arkansas.
