Babak Mokhlesi, MD, is a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and an associate professor of medicine at the University of Chicago. He is board-certified in sleep medicine, pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine. He is the director of the Sleep Disorders Center as well as the Sleep Medicine Fellowship training program at the University of Chicago.
Dr. Mokhlesi’s areas of interest range from respiratory sleep disorders – such as obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and obesity hypoventilation syndrome – to non-respiratory sleep disorders including circadian rhythm disorders and insomnia. He completed fellowships in pulmonary and critical care and sleep medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and he completed his residency in internal medicine at Weiss Memorial Hospital/University of Chicago. Dr. Mokhlesi earned his medical degree from the University of Monterrey School of Medicine in Monterrey, Mexico.
