Tolerance and adherence to positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy remains to be a challenge for some patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). It is estimated that about half of the patients with OSA have poor long-term adherence to PAP therapy. This webinar sponsored by the Sleep Technologist and Respiratory Therapist Education Committee focuses on hypoglossal nerve stimulation (HNS) as an option for patients who struggle with PAP therapy. We will discuss different aspects of this form of neuromodulation therapy: patient selection, surgical evaluation and implantation, device activation and follow-up, and HNS titration sleep study.
