The AASM is accepting applications from members who are interested in serving a two-year term as the chair of an AASM Sleep Education Series course. Chairs are being recruited for the Interpreting Sleep Studies, Current Topics in Sleep Medicine and Business of Sleep Medicine courses.
Course chairs are responsible for developing the content of the course, recommending faculty members, working with staff in the AASM national office, and presenting at least one of the lectures. Complete Guidelines for Course Chairs are available on the AASM Web site. Chairs are expected to begin preparations about 10 to 12 months before the scheduled date of the 2011 course.
Members who are interested in serving as a course chair must submit a one-page letter of interest by Monday, Jan. 18, 2010. In the letter you should specify which course you want to chair, describe your vision for that course and briefly highlight your relevant experience in providing professional education in the field of sleep medicine.
Submit your letter of interest by e-mail to rrosenberg@aasm.org or by fax to 708-492-0943. For more information contact Richard Rosenberg at 708-492-0930.
