This virtual course explores the foundational aspects of clinical sleep medicine with an emphasis on board exam preparation. Essential topics covered by the expert faculty include normal sleep, neurophysiology, sleep staging and event scoring, and sleep disorders diagnosis and treatment.

- Recognize key waveforms for sleep scoring;

- Construct a comprehensive sleep report.

Sleep Medicine Essentials offers a comprehensive 17-hour learning experience that includes both on-demand modules and live, interactive presentations, providing in-depth coverage of the full spectrum of sleep medicine. Enhance your practical skills with the Intensive Scoring Review, a 4.5-hour on-demand session focused on applying the latest scoring rules from the AASM Manual for the Scoring of Sleep and Associated Events.
Participants will receive access to recordings of all course sessions, which will be available on-demand through December 31, 2025, allowing for flexible review and continued learning at your own pace.

Confirmation and Registration Disclaimer
Confirmation will be sent via email within one week of receipt of the registration form and payment. All attendees must pre-register.
Cancellation Policy
Attendees will receive a full refund of all registration fees when a cancellation request is submitted in writing to the AASM meetings department at courses@aasm.org by Monday, Sept. 8, 2025. After this date, no refunds will be available. Refunds are not provided to no-shows. The AASM reserves the right to cancel this course and provide a full refund should conditions warrant. The refund will only include the cost of registration for the event.

The AMA Council on Medical Education mandates that accredited providers only offer AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ to physicians. Non-physicians will be provided a letter of attendance indicating the number of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ awarded for the sessions they attended

Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Maintenance of Certification (MOC) for Physicians
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to:
- 21.50 Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.
- 21.50 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.
- 21.50 annual part II self-assessment credit in the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery’s Continuing Certification program (formerly known as MOC).
- The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology has reviewed the Sleep Medicine Essentials and Intensive Scoring Review 2025 Self-Assessment Exam and has approved these programs as a part of a comprehensive self-assessment program, which is mandated by the ABMS as a necessary component of maintenance of certification.
