Hari Bandla, MD is starting his second
year as amember of theChildhood
SleepDisorders andDevelopment Sec-
tion. He is anAssociateProfessor at the
University of ChicagoandChief of the
Division of PediatricSleepMedicine. He
specializes in the comprehensiveman-
agement of sleepdisorders in children
and infants, with a special interest in
the treatment of children needing home
ventilation.Alsoan active physician sci-
entist, Dr. Bandla’s research has focused
on pediatric sleep disorders associated
withother health conditions, including
obesity, cystic fibrosis andgastroesopha-
geal reflux disease (GERD).
BethMalow, MD
BethMalow, MD is startingher second
year as amember of theChildhood
SleepDisorders andDevelopment Sec-
tion. She is aProfessor of Neurology
andPediatrics inCognitiveChildhood
Development at Vanderbilt University
School of Medicine, where she directs
theSleepDivision. Her research has
emphasized the interface of sleep and
epilepsy, autism, and relateddisorders
of neurodevelopment. She also serves
asAssociateDirector of theVanderbilt
Clinical ResearchCenter, Director of
theVanderbilt SleepCore, and principal
investigator for theVanderbilt siteof the
NeuroNEXTNetwork (NINDSNetwork
of Excellence inNeuroscienceClinical
Trials) and theAutismSpeaksAutism
Treatment Network. She has led feder-
ally-funded treatment trials of melatonin
for sleep in childrenwith autism aswell
as behavioral sleepeducation in this
population.
Nanci Yuan,MD
Nanci Yuan, MD is also starting her
second year as amember of theChild-
hoodSleepDisorders andDevelopment
Section. She is anAssociateProfessor
at LucilePackardChildren’sHospital
at Stanfordwhere she is theMedical
Director for their PediatricSleepCenter.
Her research interests are concentrated
on the pulmonary complications due to
neuromuscular disease, cerebral palsy/
hypertonicity, scoliosis, and sleepdisor-
ders in the pediatric population. ■
