  • No voting privileges
  • Discounted membership pricing ($100) available to staff who are employed by an AASM Accredited Facility Member

  • Must hold an M.D., D.O., Ph.D., or other healthcare doctoral degree
  • They must be in an ACGME-accredited sleep medicine training program or similar training program as approved by the Board of Directors.
  • Full voting privileges
  • Required: a letter of verification from your program director/registrar verifying your student status within 2 weeks of application (memberships will remain inactive until verification is received)

  • Must be in formal training, such as medical school, residency, a Master’s Degree program, a non-sleep medicine fellowship program, a Ph.D. program, or similar program as approved by the Board of Directors.
  • Not eligible for sleep technology students or those who returning to school for additional education unrelated to Sleep Medicine or Sleep Research
  • No voting privileges

  • Individuals, who are not eligible for other membership categories, are eligible for Affiliate Membership if they are active in clinical and/or research aspects of sleep medicine.
  • No voting privileges

  • Individuals who have demonstrated special competency in sleep medicine and have made significant contributions to the field
  • Must have been a Regular Member for the last 5 consecutive years; additional requirements for fellows found here

$100 $75

  • Individuals who are 70 years of age or older
  • Must have been a Regular or Fellow Member of the AASM for at least 20 non-consecutive years

  • Individuals who are 65 years of age or older
  • Working zero hours per week in the field of sleep medicine
  • No voting privileges

  • For individuals residing in countries classified by the World Bank as low-income, lower-middle-income, or upper-middle-income (list of eligible countries)
  • Applicant’s mailing address must be located in one of the above mentioned countries to receive the discounted dues rate
  • Excludes voting rights

  • For individuals who require additional dues assistance or do not reside in one of the World Bank designated countries under Option A
  • Limited to 2 years
  • Individuals must submit a written letter requesting Corresponding Membership B status describing the hardship that necessitates such application to be reviewed by the Board of Directors

As long as you are active in the field of Sleep Medicine; you are applicable for Regular Membership.
If you have been a Regular Member for 5+ years, you are applicable for Fellow Membership

Formally known as “Student Membership” if you are in formal training, such as medical school, residency, a Master’s Degree program, a non-sleep medicine fellowship program, a Ph.D. program, or similar program as approved by the Board of Directors, you are eligible for In-Training Membership.
Not eligible for sleep technology students or those who returning to school for additional education unrelated to Sleep Medicine or Sleep Research Required

Individuals who are 65 years of age or older working zero hours per week in the field of sleep medicine are eligible for Retired Membership. If you have been a Regular or Fellow Member for at least 20 non-consecutive years, you are eligible for Emeritus Membership.

Previously known as “Affiliates”, if you are a nurse practitioner/nurse/medical assistant in the field of sleep medicine you are eligible for Sleep Team Membership.

Previously known as “Affiliates”, if you are a nurse practitioner/nurse/medical assistant in the field of sleep medicine you are eligible for Sleep Team Membership.

Previously known as “Affiliates”, if you are a nurse practitioner/nurse/medical assistant in the field of sleep medicine you are eligible for Sleep Team Membership.
