Ideal for individuals looking for a broad review of clinical
sleep medicine in 2014, this course will provide attendees
with tips for the practical application of treatments for
several common sleep disorders based on clinical
evidence. Topics covered include: out of center sleep
testing, REM sleep behavior disorders and parasomnias,
restless legs syndrome, narcolepsy and hypersomnias,
circadian rhythm disorders, complex, central and treatment
emergent apneas, pediatric sleep disorders and the
sleepless patient.

Given the challenges presented by the changing health
care environment all providers, including sleep medicine
practitioners, will soon need to incorporate new technology
into their practices to improve the value and quality of the care
that they provide. The goals of this course are to review cutting
edge technology that may be used to enhance patient care
and teach practicing clinicians how to use various diagnostic
and therapeutic devices in clinical practice for the spectrum of
sleep disorders. The didactic lecture-based presentations will
be focused on the types of devices available on the market,
advantages and limitations of the various devices, indications
for use, insurance requirements for reimbursement (if
applicable), how to set up the devices, download interpretation
and troubleshooting of common problems.

devices and non-PAP advanced technologies for the
management of the spectrum of sleep disordered breathing;

3. Identify how telemedicine and the electronic health record
may be used to enhance the care of patients with sleep
disorders; and
4. Review advanced technologies available that may enhance
the care of patients with pediatric and neurologic sleep
disorders.
